Reimagined Pines Crossing Golf Course to open Nov. 3

October 18 2023

AUBURN & OPELIKA, Ala.- The Auburn and Opelika communities are invited to celebrate the reimagined Pines Crossing Golf Course — formerly known as Indian Pines — with a grand opening ceremony on Friday, Nov. 3. The event will begin at 9 a.m. at 900 Country Club Drive.

Originally established in the ‘70s, the former Indian Pines Golf Course closed in early 2023 for the construction of a completely redesigned and renovated course. The course was renamed Pines Crossing to accompany the new layout, reflecting a tie between old and new and the course’s location on the line between Auburn and Opelika.

“We’re thrilled to welcome the community back to our grounds,” said Fred Holton, general manager of Pines Crossing. “The new design is completely different from the old layout, offering an exciting challenge for returning and new golfers. We’re proud to bring such a high-caliber public course to the Auburn-Opelika area.”

The redesigned 18-hole public golf course is a par 72 course measuring 7,031 yards. Pines Crossing will offer a variety of tees for all skill levels along with a newly designed practice facility and short-game area. The facility offers seasonal golf membership options designed to fit most individual, senior, couple and family needs.

“What an exciting time in the history of a community treasure,” Auburn Mayor Ron Anders said. “This long-awaited refresh will provide new opportunities for our community’s golfers of all experience levels, and we look forward to seeing folks hit the greens again soon.”

Those interested in playing the new course may book a tee time by calling 334-821-0880 or visiting pinescrossing.com.

“This new facility is shining example of the great things that happen when our communities work together,” Opelika Mayor Gary Fuller said. “Pines Crossing is just one of the top-tier amenities available in our corner of Alabama, and we look forward to those inside and outside of our community taking advantage of all the course has to offer.”
