AUBURN, Ala. - The Water Works Board of the City of Auburn will perform maintenance work Sept. 22-23 to repair a leak along East University Drive between Hampton Drive and Charing Loop.

Tuesday, Sept. 22

• The westbound lane of East University Drive is expected to be closed and traffic will be shifted to the center lane. Two-way traffic will be maintained throughout this closure.
  • This closure is scheduled for 6:30 a.m.-4 p.m.
• The eastern entrance onto Hampton Drive will be closed. All Hampton Drive traffic should use the western entrance to enter or exit the neighborhood.
  • This closure is scheduled for 6:30 a.m.-4 p.m.

Wednesday, Sept. 23

• The westbound lane of East University Drive is expected to be closed and traffic will be shifted to the center lane. Two-way traffic will be maintained throughout this closure.
  • This closure is scheduled for 6:30 a.m.-4 p.m.
• The eastern entrance onto Hampton Drive is scheduled to be closed. All Hampton Drive traffic should use the western entrance to enter or exit the neighborhood.
  • This closure is scheduled for 6:30 a.m.-4 p.m.
• There will be a temporary water service disruption for customers from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. in the following areas:
  • Along East University Drive between Hampton Drive and Azalea Drive
  • Charing Loop

Crews in the area will be performing flushing operations. This may result in some discolored water in the system. Should you experience this, we recommend running your faucet until clear and to check prior to washing clothes.
