Road closures expected Feb. 28-March 1 during War Eagle Run Fest

AUBURN, Ala.- Road and lane closures are expected throughout Auburn on Saturday, Feb. 28 and Sunday, March 1, during the War Eagle Run Fest Half Marathon and 5K. Traffic impacts are expected to begin at 7 a.m. on Feb. 28 and March 1, including the following closures. Please note, all times are estimated.
Saturday, February, 28:
Rolling lane and street closures are expected around the Auburn University campus from 7 a.m.-10 a.m. The impacted streets are:
- South Donahue Drive
- Mell Street
- Lem Morrison Drive
- West Samford Avenue
- Wire Road
- Heisman Drive
Sunday, March, 1:
- East Glenn Avenue will be closed from North College Street to North Dean Road from 7 a.m.-9 a.m.
- One eastbound lane of East Glenn Avenue will be closed from North Dean Road to East Samford Avenue from 7 a.m.-9 a.m.
- The westbound lane of East Samford Avenue will be closed from East University Drive to South College Street from 7 a.m.-10 a.m.
- The northbound lane of South Gay Street will be closed from East Samford Avenue to Town Creek Park from 7:30 a.m.-10 a.m.
- The southbound lane of Wrights Mill Road will be closed from East Samford Avenue to Town Creek Park from 7:30 a.m.-10 a.m.
- Woodfield Drive will be closed from South College Street to Lem Morrison Drive from 8 a.m.-11 a.m.
- Duncan Drive will be closed from the Gogue Performing Arts Center to West Samford Avenue from 8 a.m.-11 a.m.
- West Samford Avenue will be closed from South College Street to Wire Road from 8 a.m.-11 a.m.
Roads will reopen as soon as runners complete each section of the routes. Motorists are advised to use caution and to take alternate routes to avoid delays.
