Auburn Area Community Theatre Presents “Peter/Wendy”
February 10 2026AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn Area Community Theatre (AACT) Young Performers are bringing Neverland to town Feb. 27–March 7 with performances of “Peter/Wendy,” a new interpretation by Jeremy Bloom of the classic tale of “Peter Pan.” Tickets are on sale now!
We all think we know the classic lighthearted story of Peter Pan. The one about a boy named peter who refuses to grow up and whisks Wendy from her nursey to enchanting Neverland for adventures with the Lost Boys all while battling the infamous Captain Hook. In this reimagined version, Bloom strips the familiar story down to its basics and explores the bittersweet experience of growing up and leaving childhood behind, which invites the audience to see a tale they thought they knew in a different light.
Director Dana Tompkins says, “At the heart of Peter/Wendy is a remarkable group of young performers who bring new life to a story we all think we know. This lesser-known telling of Peter Pan challenges them to explore imagination, growing up, and the courage it takes to let go. Watching this youth ensemble dig deeply into these characters—and into themselves—has been the most meaningful part of the process. Their honesty, talent and fearlessness are what make this production so beautiful.”
Performances are Feb. 27 and 28; March 2, 5 and 6 at 6:30 p.m., with matinee performances on Feb. 28 and March 7 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for children, students and seniors.
