AUBURN, Ala. – The Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center (JDCAC) Ceramics Studio will host its annual Day in Clay event on Saturday, Feb. 7, from 9 a.m. to noon. The community is invited to explore the art of ceramics through demonstrations, hands-on workshops and creative activities for all ages.

Throughout the morning, attendees can observe hand-building and wheel-throwing demonstrations, tour the studio, and enjoy light refreshments. For those interested in a more interactive experience, workshops will be offered at 9, 10, and 11 a.m. Each session costs $10 and is open to both children and adults. Projects are designed for beginners and led by JDCAC Ceramics Studio members and staff. Day in Clay also offers an opportunity to learn more about the JDCAC Ceramics Studio’s membership program and the variety of ceramics classes and workshops offered each quarter.

Workshops must be reserved in advance; walk-up registration will not be available. Participants may register online at auburnal.gov/parks/register.
