Most City facilities closed Dec. 25-26, Jan. 1

AUBURN, Ala.- Most City facilities will be closed on Dec. 25-26 and Jan. 1 during the Christmas and New Year's holidays. Public safety services including police, fire and communications will remain on their regular schedules.

Thursday's garbage, trash and recycling pickup routes will run on Friday during the weeks of Dec. 22 and Dec. 29.

The Auburn Public Library will close at 5 p.m. on Dec. 24 and 31. It will be closed all day on Dec. 25, Dec. 26 and Jan. 1. Book drops will remain open, and the online collection of e-books, e-audiobooks and digital magazines are always available at auburnal.gov/library.

Most Parks and Recreation facilities will be closed Dec. 25-26 and Jan. 1. Frank Brown Recreation Center, the Harris Center, the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center and Lake Wilmore Park Recreation Center will close at 5 p.m. on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31 and will be closed on Dec. 25-26 and Jan. 1. The Yarbrough Tennis Center will be closed on Dec. 24, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1 and will close at 2 p.m. on Dec. 31. All parks, playgrounds and cemeteries will be open from sunrise to sunset.

Surface parking throughout downtown will be free Dec. 15-Jan. 6 during Auburn University's winter break.
