AUBURN, Ala.- The City of Auburn is excited to announce that six additional pickleball courts are now open at the Lake Wilmore Park Recreation Center. Beginning today, Oct. 6, all 18 covered and lit courts are open to the public and available free of charge.
As with the original 12 courts, the new courts are open daily from sunrise to 9 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis, unless otherwise reserved or designated for a Parks and Recreation program. Restroom facilities inside the recreation center are available during regular center hours:
- Monday-Thursday: 6 a.m.-9 p.m.
- Friday: 6 a.m.- 6 p.m.
- Saturday: 8 a.m.-noon
- Sunday: 1-6 p.m.
To ensure fair use during busy periods, players are asked to continue following established court rotation guidelines:
- Limit warm-up times to five minutes or less.
- Limit court time to best two out of three games to 11, winning by 2. Winners may stay on for three games max.
- After games, players should exit the court immediately and return to the waiting area.
- Waiting players should place their paddles in the paddle rack from left to right.
The City of Auburn thanks the community for its patience and support as the new courts were completed and opened for use.
