Yarbrough Tennis Center receives 2025 USTA Outstanding Facility Award

AUBURN, Ala.- The City of Auburn/Auburn University Yarbrough Tennis Center has been recognized as one of the nation’s top tennis facilities, receiving a U.S. Tennis Association (USTA) Outstanding Facility Award on Aug. 26 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York as part of the 2025 US Open.
The Yarbrough Tennis Center was among 45 facilities nationwide honored for excellence in facilities management, programming and contributions to the sport.
“Outstanding tennis facilities like the Yarbrough Tennis Center help us to grow the game at the grassroots level, and we are proud to recognize them for their ongoing impact on the sport of tennis,” said Theodore Loehrke, Managing Director, Section Partnerships, USTA. “The great work of the Yarbrough Tennis Center continues to support our shared mission of growing tennis to inspire healthier people and communities everywhere.”
Facilities were judged on a variety of criteria, including:
- Overall layout and adaptation to site.
- Excellence of court surface and lights.
- Ease of maintenance.
- Accommodations for players, spectators and officials.
- Aesthetics and graphics, including signage and landscaping.
- Amenities such as seating, food services and social areas.
- Participation in grassroots tennis programs.
The USTA’s Outstanding Facility Awards program highlights facilities across the country that foster the growth of tennis at every level and provide a welcoming environment for players and the community.
