Auburn Area Community Theatre celebrates 20 years

June 18 2025

AUBURN, Ala.- Auburn Area Community Theatre (AACT) will close its 2024–2025 season by celebrating two decades of theatrical magic with a community-wide 20th Anniversary Celebration. The event will take place Saturday, June 21, from 7–9 p.m. at the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center, 222 E. Drake Ave. Admission is free and open to the public.

Guests ages 12 and up are encouraged to attend this special evening of desserts, coffee, entertainment, giveaways and community fellowship. The celebration will honor AACT’s legacy of creativity and collaboration while offering a first look at the 2025–2026 season lineup.

In addition to recognizing the people and productions that shaped AACT over the years, the organization will also celebrate a recent grant from the Alabama State Council on the Arts, which funded new risers to be debuted in the upcoming season.

“We wouldn’t be here without the amazing support of our community,” said AACT founder and artistic director Andrea Holliday. “This event is for everyone who’s been part of our story — onstage, backstage, in the audience or cheering from afar — and for those who want to be part of our next 20 years.”

AACT is a nonprofit, volunteer-run organization that thrives on community involvement. RSVPs are appreciated and can be submitted online at auburnact.org. Walk-ins are welcomed.
