Community Development Block Grant public hearings set for March 17

AUBURN, Ala.- The community is invited to attend public hearings related to the City's of Auburn's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program on March 17 at 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. The meetings will be held in the Boykin Community Center Auditorium at 400 Boykin St.
Each year, the City of Auburn receives CDBG funding for housing and public service activities that benefit low- to moderate-income residents. These hearings will give the public a chance to review and comment on draft documents related to how the City plans to use CDBG funding over the next five years, including:
- 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan & Annual Action Plan - A planning framework describing the needs, resources, priorities and proposed activities to be undertaken with CDBG funding. The Annual Action Plan is a yearly update of the Consolidated Plan.
- 2025-2029 Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice - An analysis of impediments to fair housing and an outline of how to address the identified impediments.
- 2025-2029 Citizen Participation Plan - A document outlining how citizens will be informed and encouraged to participate in the development of the Consolidated Plan, Annual Action Plan and the Consolidated Annual Performance Report.
The draft plans are available for review online at auburnalabama.org/community-services/resources or in person at Auburn City Hall, the Auburn Public Library and the Boykin Community Center.
