UPDATE: The adult and child clay paid projects are now full. Visitors may still attend and enjoy watching demonstrations and learn more about the ceramics studio.

AUBURN, Ala.- Mark your calendars — Day in Clay is returning! The Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center Ceramics Studio will host its one-day open house on Saturday, March 1, from 9 a.m. to noon. The whole family is invited to visit the new studio, enjoy beverages and snacks and watch hand-building and throwing demonstrations by studio members. Come learn all about the benefits of a studio membership and discover a variety of ceramics classes and programs offered each quarter.

Visitors who want the experience of working in clay can pay $10 per person and select either an adult or kids project to create. All projects are led by Ceramics Studio members or staff and will be held at 9, 10 and 11 a.m.

While everyone is invited to visit the studio, there is limited space available for those interested in creating with clay. Registration for hands-on workshops is available online. No hands-on workshops can be purchased at the door.

Each workshop will complete the same project. Adult workshop attendees will create a salsa bowl, and kids will create a fruit bowl.
