AUBURN, Ala.- Auburn Parks and Recreation’s Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center recently received a $6,100 grant from the Alabama State Council on the Arts that will help fund art education programs for youth in the community over the next year.

The council has been a longtime supporter of art education endeavors such as the Arts Center’s Adventures in Art program, a highly anticipated event for all Auburn City School fifth graders. The recent grant will help provide the vital performance component of the 2025 Adventures in Art program, ensuring the program continues to have qualified artistic performers. The 2025 program will focus on the music of Muscle Shoals.

This year, the Alabama State Council on the Arts awarded more than $1.2 million in grants to arts organizations and individuals across the state.
