Two men arrested on charges associated with illegally discharging a firearm

Auburn, Ala. - On August 6, 2024, the Auburn Police Department (APD), with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Task Force, arrested Jalan Druquan Spinks-Bryant, age 23, from Auburn, AL, on felony warrants charging him with two counts of discharging a firearm into an unoccupied vehicle and one count of discharging a firearm into an unoccupied dwelling.

The arrest stems from Auburn Police responding to a shots fired call near the 600 block of Opelika Road on July 21, 2024. Officers located a crime scene in the area, as well as multiple vehicles and nearby residences that were struck by gunfire. There were no injuries related to the gunfire.

During the investigation, Jalan Druquan Spinks-Bryant and Zaquavious Tygvan Gilmore were developed as suspects and arrest warrants were obtained for both. Gilmore was arrested by Auburn Police on July 22 and charged with discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling and discharging a firearm into an unoccupied vehicle.

APD officers and members of the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Task Force located Spinks-Bryant on Aug. 6, and he was arrested in obedience to the outstanding arrest warrants.

Spinks-Bryant and Gilmore are both currently incarcerated at the Lee County Jail and held on no bond.
