Downtown streets to close Feb. 10 for Mardi Gras Parade

AUBURN, Ala.- Downtown streets will close for the Krewe de Tigris Mardi Gras Parade at noon on Saturday, Feb. 10. The parade will begin at 1 p.m. Cars parked along the route will be allowed to leave until 12:50 p.m. All cars remaining after that time will be unable to leave until the parade is over around 2 p.m. Parking along Tichenor Avenue between College and Gay streets will close at 8 a.m. to allow the parade ample space to pass through.

The parade will begin at the intersection of Thach Avenue and South College Street, travel east on Thach Avenue to Gay Street, north to Tichenor Avenue, west to College Street and south back to Thach Avenue.

An entertainment district will be in effect from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Downtown visitors are encouraged to park in the Wright Street Parking Deck and AuburnBank's Burton Street Parking Deck. Find more information about downtown parking at
