Political, campaign sign regulations reminder

February 05 2024

AUBURN, Ala.- With the 2024 primary election season underway, here are a few City of Auburn signage regulations reminders that help keep Auburn beautiful:

  • Political signs should only be placed out within 30 days before the election. The upcoming primary election date is March 5, 2024, which means that signs may be placed out beginning Feb. 4, 2024.
  • Signs should be no more than 32 square feet.
  • All signs must be on private property and cannot be placed on City right of ways, utility poles or traffic signs. In most neighborhoods, the right of way is typically between the water meter and the road. Signs placed in the right of way will be removed.
  • Signs for all candidates must be removed within seven days of the election.

The same regulations will apply to the potential primary runoff election on April 16 and the general election on Nov. 5.
