Atlanta woman arrested for theft of property and fraudulent use of a debit/credit card
January 17 2024Auburn, Ala. - On Jan. 16, 2024, Auburn Police, with assistance from the Mobile Police Department, arrested Lakisha Nicole Hancock, 33, from Atlanta, GA on felony warrants charging her with three counts of fraudulent use of a debit/credit card and two counts of theft of property third degree.
The arrest stems from Auburn Police receiving multiple theft reports on July 20, 2023. Two unrelated victims reported that a suspect stole items, including their bank cards. The thefts occurred at separate locations, one at a business located near the 1200 block of Gatewood Drive, and the second theft occurred at a business located near the 800 block of East Glenn Avenue. Both victims reported fraudulent activity on their stolen cards that occurred at multiple locations.
Lakisha Nicole Hancock was developed as a suspect. Auburn Police detectives also received information that the Mobile Police Department was investigating similar incidents, possibly involving the same suspect. After further investigation, arrest warrants were obtained.
Hancock was arrested in obedience to the warrants on Jan. 16, 2024. She was transported to the Lee County Jail and held on a $6,500 bond.
All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
