Auburn Fire Department recognizes recent promotions

Auburn, Ala. - Auburn Fire Department is proud to announce three promotions within the department: Elinda Dannar to the rank of captain, as well as Tyler Bush and Joshua Evans to the rank of sergeant, effective January 1, 2024.

Captain Elinda Dannar began her fire service career with the City of Auburn as a student firefighter in May 2008. She accepted a full-time position as a career firefighter in Sept. 2011, promoted to fire sergeant in Oct. 2016 and promoted to lieutenant in June 2020. Dannar obtained a bachelor's degree from Auburn University in 2009 and a master’s degree in industrial and organizational psychology from Auburn University in May 2023. She has actively participated over the past several years as a physical training instructor in the fire recruit school and as a member of the Critical Incident Stress Management Team. Capt. Dannar and her husband, Anthony, are the proud parents of two children.

Sergeant Tyler Bush began his fire service career with the City of Auburn as a student firefighter in 2015. He accepted a full-time position as a career firefighter in 2020. Bush obtained his advanced EMT in 2017 and was recognized as the City of Auburn Employee of the Month in Dec. 2022. He obtained an associate degree in nursing in May 2020 and has been a registered nurse since July 2020. He graduated from Auburn University with a bachelor’s degree in nursing in 2021. Sgt. Bush is married to his wife, Lauren Bush.

Sergeant Joshua Evans began his fire service career with the City of Auburn as a career firefighter in Nov. 2020. Sgt. Evans obtained a double major from Auburn University in 2009 with a focus on business administration and marketing. He and his wife, Rebecca, are the proud parents of four children.
