Texas man arrested on charges of theft and criminal mischief

Auburn, Ala. - On Dec. 27, 2023, Auburn Police arrested Terance Deshawn Carter, age 27, from Houston, TX, on felony warrants charging him with two counts of theft of property first degree and criminal mischief first degree.

The arrest stems from an investigation that began on June 14, 2023, when Auburn Police responded to theft and criminal mischief that occurred at a business located in the 1300 block of South Donahue Drive. Police additionally discovered that a vehicle used to perpetrate the theft had recently been stolen from a location near the 100 block of South Donahue Drive.

Terance Deshawn Carter was developed as a suspect, and arrest warrants were obtained in Oct. 2023. Carter was located and arrested in obedience to the warrants in Livingston, TX. After the extradition process, Carter was transported to the Lee County Jail and the arrest warrants were executed on Dec. 27.

Carter was held at the Lee County Jail on a $13,000 bond.

All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
