Columbus man arrested on multiple charges

Auburn, Ala.- On Sept. 21, 2023, Auburn Police arrested David Isaiah Stinson, age 22, from Columbus, GA, on warrants charging him with possession of burglary tools, attempting to elude and obstructing government operations.
The arrest stems from Auburn Police conducting patrol during the early morning hours on Sept. 21. Officers observed a masked male on foot, accompanied by another subject. The masked male was in possession of a long object, later identified as a crowbar. An officer maneuvered to attempt to contact the subjects, and both fled on foot.
Auburn Police located two discarded crowbars in the area where the subjects fled. Additional responding officers located Stinson, who was still attempting to flee. Stinson was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit; however, the second subject was not located.
Stinson was detained, and after further investigation, he was charged with possession of burglary tools, attempting to elude and obstructing government operations.
Stinson was transported to the Lee County Jail and held on a $7,000 bond.
