Auburn, Ala. - On Feb. 8, 2023 Auburn Police arrested Carl Theophilous Dumas, age 56, from Auburn, AL on warrants charging him with three counts of fraudulent use of a debit/credit card and theft of lost property.

The arrest stems from an incident that was reported on Feb. 4, 2023. Officers met with a victim that reported the theft of a wallet containing a credit card. Multiple fraudulent charges were made using the stolen credit card at locations in the Auburn area.

Carl Theophilous Dumas was developed as a suspect, and after further investigation, he was arrested for fraudulent use of a debit/credit card and theft of lost property. Dumas was transported to the Lee County Jail and held on a $5,500 bond.

All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
