AUBURN, Ala. - On Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2023, at approximately 11:11 p.m., the Auburn Police Department responded to a call of a pedestrian walking on the roadway in the southbound lane of traffic on Interstate 85 near mile marker 54. As officers responded to the area, the Auburn Communications Section received notification of a pedestrian lying on I-85 near the Moores Mill Bridge. Upon arrival, officers located the deceased victim, who had injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle. The victim was later identified as a 58-year-old female from Auburn.

The victim's identity is being withheld and pending notification of the family. The case remains under investigation by Auburn Police, and an arrest is anticipated.
