Alexander City man arrested for robbery first degree

Auburn, Ala. - On Jan. 4, 2023 Auburn Police arrested Travis Jerome Johnson Jr., age 18, from Alexander City, AL on a felony warrant charging him with robbery first degree.

The arrest stems from Auburn Police responding to a call reporting that a vehicle had been struck by gunfire near the 2400 block of Martin Luther King Drive on Dec. 31, 2022. Officers met with a victim and confirmed a vehicle driven by the victim had damage consistent with gunfire.

The victim reported the damage occurred during a robbery, and further stated that suspects demanded property while threatening the victim with firearms, which included gunfire to the vehicle. There were no physical injuries resulting from the incident; however, property was taken from the victim.

Travis Jerome Johnson Jr. was developed as a suspect, and after further investigation, he was arrested on Jan. 4. Johnson was transported to the Lee County Jail and held on a $100,000 bond.
