Auburn Police arrest three on charges of unlawful breaking and entering into a motor vehicle

Auburn, Ala. - On Dec. 10, 2022, Auburn Police arrested Na’jee Ahmad Johnson, age 19, Tahjmir Kevin Patten, age 18, and a 15-year-old juvenile, all from Opelika, on felony charges of unlawful breaking and entering into a motor vehicle. Johnson was additionally charged with possession of marijuana second degree.
The arrest stems from Auburn Police responding to a call reporting possible vehicle break ins near the 300 block of Genelda Avenue on Dec. 10. A witness reported that multiple subjects were seen in the area looking into multiple vehicles. The witness stated entry was made into one vehicle, and a suspect description was provided to officers. Johnson, Patten and the 15-year-old juvenile were contacted by police in the area shortly after the incident was witnessed.
After further investigation, all three suspects were arrested for charges associated with unlawfully entering a vehicle.
Johnson, held on a $4,000 bond, and Patten, held on a $3,000 bond, were transported to the Lee County Jail. The 15-year-old juvenile was released to a guardian in accordance with Lee County Juvenile Intake.
