Opelika man arrested on multiple charges
October 28 2022
Auburn, Ala. - On Oct. 27, 2022, Auburn Police, arrested Kendrick Cortez Brown, age 26, from Opelika, on felony warrants charging him sodomy first degree, robbery first degree and burglary first degree. Kendrick Brown was arrested for these charges stemming from an incident that occurred in April 2015.
The first defendant, age 25 from Opelika, was arrested on Oct. 25, 2022. Because the first defendant was a juvenile when the crime occurred in 2015, the name is withheld; however, this individual was also charged with sodomy first degree, robbery first degree and burglary first degree.
The investigation began on April 3, 2015, when Auburn Police met with a victim that reported a sexual assault and burglary that occurred in the 800 block of West Longleaf Drive.
The case remained under investigation, and in October 2022 Auburn Police received results from forensic evidence identifying the first defendant that was arrested on Oct. 25, 2022. As additional evidence was developed, Kendrick Brown was subsequently identified as the second offender.
Both defendants were transported to the Lee County Detention Center and are being held without bond.
All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
