Lee County Youth Development Center Board applications open through Aug. 29

AUBURN, Ala.- The Auburn City Council is accepting applications to fill a vacancy on the Lee County Youth Development Center Board of Directors. The term will begin Oct. 1, 2022, and end Sept. 30, 2026.

The Lee County Youth Development Center is a private nonprofit established in response to the growing need for shelter and placement for abused and neglected children. The center strives to provide a high standard of quality care, innovative prevention and treatment programs and well-trained, qualified staff.

The board consists of 13 members, four of whom are from the City of Auburn. Members serve four-year terms. The board meets the third Monday of each month at noon in the Lee County Youth Development Center Board Room.

Those interested in serving are invited to apply online using the link at auburnalabama.org/boards. Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Aug. 29. The City Council will make an appointment at its Sept. 6 meeting.
