Two arrested on theft of property charges

Auburn, Ala. - On June 5, 2022, Auburn Police arrested Elizabeth Ann Henley, age 53, from Dadeville, Alabama, and Courtney Renee Henley, age 28, from LaGrange, Georgia. C. Henley was charged with theft of property first degree and theft of property third degree, and E. Henley was charged with two counts of theft of property third degree.

The arrest stems from Auburn Police responding to a shoplifting call at a business located in the 2300 block of Bent Creek Road. E. Henley and C. Henley were contacted by police while exiting the business with stolen merchandise. After further investigation, both were arrested for theft of property third degree. Both suspects were determined to be involved in additional thefts that were reported on June 1, 2022, at the same location. E. Henley was charged with an additional count of theft of property third degree, and C. Henley was charged with theft of property first degree related to the theft reported on June 1, 2022.

C. Henley and E. Henley were both transported to the Lee County Jail and held on $6,500 and $1,500 bonds, respectively.
