Auburn, Ala. - On June 6, 2022, Auburn Police arrested Roderick Dontavious Simmons, age 21, and Melvin Logan Harvey, age 23, both from Union Springs, Alabama, on felony warrants charging each with receiving stolen property first degree.

The arrest stems from Auburn Police making contact with two subjects in reference to suspicious activity near the 1000 block of Opelika Road. The subjects were identified as Roderick Dontavious Simmons and Melvin Logan Harvey. Police determined that property found in their possession had been previously reported stolen in another police jurisdiction. After further investigation, Simmons and Harvey were charged with receiving stolen property first degree.

Simmons and Harvey were transported to the Lee County Jail and both held on a $5,000 bond.
