UPDATE: Phenix City suspect wanted for armed robbery

AUBURN, Ala. - On April 24, 2022 at 9:24 p.m., Phenix City Police Department was called to Walmart, located at 3700 U.S. Highway 280/431 North, in reference to a robbery and shots fired. Upon police arrival, there were no injuries and the offender had already fled the scene in a Silver 2015 KIA Optima.
The Lee County Sheriff's Office later made contact with that vehicle in the area of Bleeker Junction, where a chase ensued ending with a wreck. One of the offenders, Shemekia Brooks, was arrested for robbery first degree and is currently in police custody. The second offender, Deuante Levon Richardson of Montgomery, fled the scene of the wreck on foot. He currently has two outstanding warrants for his arrest for robbery first degree and carrying a pistol without a license. Richardson was last seen on foot in the Chewacla State Park area in a blue jumpsuit.
