Auburn Police arrest two in connection with Glenn Avenue robbery

April 04 2022

AUBURN, Ala.- On April 3, 2022, Auburn Police arrested Charles Lewis Reese Jr., age 18, from Opelika, and a 17-year-old juvenile, from Auburn, on felony warrants charging both subjects with robbery first degree. Reese was also charged with possession of marijuana second degree.

The arrests stem from Auburn Police responding to a robbery that occurred outside a business located in the 800 block of East Glenn Avenue. A victim, not associated with the business, reported that a suspect attempted to take property by force while armed with a firearm. The suspect then fled in a vehicle that was driven by a second suspect.

Reese Jr., pictured, and the 17-year-old juvenile were developed as suspects and were later contacted in the vehicle used to flee after the crime occurred. After further investigation, both were arrested. The 17-year-old juvenile was charged as an adult in accordance with state law.

The 17-year-old juvenile ($100,000 bond) and Reese ($101,000 bond) were both transported to the Lee County Jail and held on bond.

All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
