Auburn, Ala. – On Feb. 6, 2022, Auburn Police arrested Cortavius Watkins, age 31, from Notasulga, and charged him with a Felony count of Duty to Give Information and Render Aid.
The arrest stems from an investigation into a report of an 18-year-old female having been hit by a vehicle while crossing a crosswalk on Feb. 6, 2022, after which the driver left the scene of the accident. At approximately 7:20 p.m., Auburn Police responded to the call and the victim received treatment for injuries from EMS and Auburn Fire before being transferred to EAMC; she is expected to recover.
Auburn Police identified the suspected vehicle, a 2013 Hyundai Sonata, as a result of it having damage consistent with evidence collected at the scene, as well as information from others on scene. Cortavius Watkins was identified as driving the vehicle at the time of the crash.
Watkins was arrested, transported to Lee County Jail and held on a $3,000 bond.

All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
