UPDATE, Jan. 7: As intersection improvements continue over the next three weeks, lane closures are expected on Donahue Drive just south of the Shug Jordan Parkway intersection. Closures will take place as the contractor relocates utilities and installs new right turn lanes.

Traffic control measures will be in place to help motorists navigate the closures. Motorists are advised to use caution in the area and to take alternate routes to avoid delays if possible.

Oct. 15: AUBURN, Ala.- Work to improve the intersection of North Donahue Drive and Shug Jordan Parkway will begin on Monday, Oct. 18.

Improvements will include the widening of Shug Jordan Parkway and North Donahue Drive to accommodate right turn lanes in all directions. The project is expected to last about three months.

Periodic lane closures will occur throughout the project as the contractor works along the side of the roadway. Motorists are advised to exercise caution in the area and take alternate routes to avoid delays. The City of Auburn thanks the public for its patience as we work to make these needed changes to the intersection.

This improvements project arose from recommendations after the completion of the 2019 City Wide Traffic Study.
