UPDATE: Water Works Board to resume disconnection of delinquent accounts

UPDATE, Jan. 25, 2022: Beginning Feb. 1, the Water Works Board of the City of Auburn will resume the normal schedule for disconnecting delinquent accounts. Disconnections were originally suspended at the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020.
To avoid service interruption, prompt payment of the water bill is required by the due date listed on the bill. In addition to the 5% or $5 late penalty, a $50 delinquent fee will be added to accounts scheduled for disconnection.

UPDATE, April 29, 2020: The Water Works Board of the City of Auburn has extended its grace period and will continue not disrupting service for late payments through May 15, 2020. However, unpaid balances will be subject to late fees. The board will resume assessing late fees on unpaid balances beginning on May 1, 2020.

March 20, 2020: AUBURN, Ala.- The Water Works Board of the City of Auburn (AWWB) will continue to bill for water, sewer and garbage services each month on its regular schedule. AWWB encourages customers to continue to pay their bills as customary. However, if this is not possible, collection procedures have been adjusted as a courtesy to our customers.
If a customer is unable to pay their bill, the AWWB will not disrupt services for late payments and will not charge late fees or delinquent account fees. These temporary procedures are in place until April 16, 2020, and will be evaluated at that time to determine if an additional grace period is needed.
